Mama’s Miracle
When I was seven years old, I was convinced my mama had worked a miracle. For a little girl living in a Catholic community, this was powerful indeed. It only took me 36 years to finally come full-circle with this story.
Sister Cecelia introduced miracles to our 2nd grade class. I was intrigued. Entranced. And determined to see a miracle on my own. A few weeks later, when my mom pulled an enormous man out of the backseat of a sinking car. I KNEW she’d worked a miracle and that wonderful things were bound to happen because of it. It just took a while.
